Skull Edit Maker
Pause the moment. Add a skull. Make the highlight yours.
Create a skull freeze edit with an original graphic, a darker freeze frame and optional shake. Choose the moment yourself, move the skull into place and export a short video in your browser.

Frames rendered by the editor from the same original sample photo, at 0 and 2 seconds. This is a photo example; use a video to hold an actual moving frame.
How to make a skull edit
- Choose a video or photo. The button above opens Freeze Frame with Skull edit selected. Try the sample, or choose one video up to 60 seconds / 40 MB, or a JPG, PNG or WebP photo up to 12 MB.
- Choose the moment to freeze. Set Freeze at to your highlight and Hold duration to 0.5–4 seconds. The output is a short 6–12 second edit starting at the beginning of your input.
- Place your skull overlay. Adjust its size and horizontal and vertical position. Set shake to zero for a still hold, or add movement. Placement is manual; the skull does not track a face.
- Preview, then export. Choose 9:16, 3:4 or 1:1, add a title and optionally your own soundtrack. Keep the tab visible during export, then download the actual MP4 or WebM your browser produces.
What is a skull edit?
A skull edit combines a highlight with a skull graphic, often during a freeze-frame pause. Different versions use different clip counts, crops and timing. This EffectPop preset uses one input and an original skull drawing; it is an independent way to create the style.
For context, CapCut lists Skull Freeze Edit templates and a FREEZE + SKULL EDIT example. EffectPop is not affiliated with CapCut, and does not load or copy those templates or their music.
Choose the right tool for your edit
Beat Sync and Skull edit are separate presets. The skull editor does not detect musical beats automatically or combine multiple video clips.
Skull edit questions
Can I make a skull edit without CapCut or an API key?
Yes. This preset runs in the EffectPop Freeze Frame editor. Your selected media is processed locally; no account or AI API key is required. Ordinary website analytics and optional advertising are described in our Privacy Policy.
Can I move and resize the skull?
Yes. Choose Skull edit under Freeze style, then use the skull size and position controls. The overlay appears only during the freeze. It stays at your chosen position, without face tracking or a face transformation.
Does the export include music or my original video's sound?
The original video audio is removed. Add an audio file you have permission to use, up to 20 MB, to include a soundtrack in the export. Without one, the export is silent. The animated canvas preview does not play that soundtrack.
What size and format can I download?
The output is 540 × 960 for 9:16, 540 × 720 for 3:4, or 540 × 540 for 1:1, at 24 fps. Select a 6, 8, 10 or 12 second duration. MP4 or WebM depends on your browser. If video recording is unavailable, save the current frame as PNG.
Can I use a photo instead of a video?
Yes. A photo creates a zoom-and-hold edit with a skull during the hold. Upload a video if you want the motion to pause on a chosen frame and then continue. Browser decoding support varies; H.264 MP4 is a useful option if another video format will not load.
